We now have a confirmed pay-per-view undercard leading up to the Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo undisputed super middleweight championship clash on Saturday, September 30 live on SHOWTIME PPV from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the telecast starting at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST.
In the co-main event, will see the potential rise of undefeated junior middleweight Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. as he faces top contender Erickson “Hammer” Lubin in a twelve-round fight that should have world title implications.
"I’m excited to be part of this huge card against a tough opponent on September 30,” said Ramos. “I know Lubin is training hard and coming to win, which will make for an entertaining fight. This whole card is stacked and we don’t want to disappoint, so the fans are in for a great night of boxing."
The pay-per-view also includes former welterweight world champion Yordenis Ugas facing Mario “El Azteca” Barrios for the Interim WBC welterweight title in a trajectory fight. Ugas is coming off an extensive layoff after losing his WBA welterweight world title via a stoppage to Errol Spence Jr. Prior to that Ugas had his biggest win by defeating Manny Pacquiao to win the title. Barrios won the secondary form of the WBA welterweight title at junior welterweight only two lose consecutive pay-per-view main event fights to Gervonta Davis and Keith Thurman. Barrios returned earlier this year as he stopped Jovannie Santiago, and he now trains with Bob Santos.
“This fight is going to be a war, because we both fight with a lot of heart and neither of us ever backs down,” said Barrios. “I can’t wait to compete in a matchup like this on one of the biggest cards of the year. This is going to be a great night of boxing from start to finish and the Mexican fans can expect to see an explosive performance from ‘El Azteca’!”
Emerging middleweight prospect Elijah Garcia has taken the boxing world by storm and will look to further his career as he faces Armando Reséndiz, who just beat Jarrett Hurd earlier this year.
“This is my second fight this year on a huge pay-per-view card and I’m super excited and even more prepared than the first time,” said Garcia. “Reséndiz is a hungry fighter just like myself, so I have no doubt that we are going to put on a hell of a show for all the fans watching.”
