Dmitry Bivol: I Can Beat Beterbiev

The two best light heavyweights in the world are quite clearly, Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. With Bivol becoming the 2022 Boxer of the Year, anticipation on a mythical match-up has only heightened.

“Because I believe in my skills. I could beat [Beterbiev], why not?” Bivol said in his post-fight press conference after getting a 12-round unanimous decision win over undefeated Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez.

Beterbiev who will have two fights set in stone already, a early 2023 bout against Anthony Yarde, and a WBC mandatory against Callum Smith, seems aways away from this fight being possible.

“I could lose. It depends on my preparation. It depends on my mental. I could have lost to Ramirez, too,” said Bivol.“I tried to be focused on the fight. Why not [win against Beterbiev]? I have good defense and good combinations. I have good boxing skills. Why I couldn’t beat him? Of course, I could. I just need a good training camp and good sparring partners, and I could. You remember what people said about Canelo. We’re all people. Not monsters. Someone stronger, someone faster, but we’re all people.”

Bivol versus Beterbiev is a true super-fight that fight fans are currently clamoring over the hopes of one day seeing
