ProBox TV analysts Chris Algieri and Paulie Malignaggi are both excited about this weekend’s heavyweight tussle between Joe Joyce and Zhilei Zhang.
The two big men meet at London’s Copper Box Arena as they bid to elevate their chances of getting into the heavyweight title picture and both former champions, Malignaggi and Algieri, anticipate a war.
“This is a good fight,” said Malignaggi. “It’s not the one and two guys but it’s still a fight where it’s top guys who you want to see eliminate one another so we you can get a real, true threat to the heavyweight crown. These are the kind of fights that must happen and they both make for fun fights… Stylistically, this is a fight that is going to be exciting.”Speaking on the ProBox TV talk show, Algieri agreed with his counterpart.
“I love this match up, I really do,” Algieri added. “It’s going to be a fun fight and it’s two guys who are really of the super-heavyweight era… They’re not going to be bouncing around each other… really, it’s going to be fireworks from the opening bell until one of them can’t take anymore. It might as well be rock ‘em sock ‘em robots as far as I’m concerned.”
Putney heavyweight Joe Joyce, known as The Juggernaut, is 15-0 with 14 stoppages and coming off the biggest win of his career over Joseph Parker while Zhang is 24-1-1 with 19 early wins and last fought to a controversial and close points loss to fellow contender Filip Hrgovic in August.
Malignaggi and Algieri previewed the big fight in detail and broke down how it could be won and lost, and made their predictions, exclusively on the ProBox TV Talk Show.
