Tommy Fury will be heading to Saudi Arabia on February 26th as he is about to take part in one of the most anticipated fights of 2023 so far as he takes on Jake Paul. The undefeated duo have been slated to fight one another twice in recent years, however, an injury and immigration issues on the behalf of Tommy had scuppered those previous opportunities.
Tommy (8-0) is taking confidence from his brother and WBC world heavyweight champion, Tyson, from which Tommy is taking plenty of advice and guidance according to a recent interview with the Sun newspaper.
“It’s absolutely amazing, I can’t say anything but. To have the heavyweight champion of the world - and in my opinion the best fighter ever - it’s amazing. What more can I say about it? Whatever problem I have in this game I can always go to him. He’s always going to be there, he’s always going to be there right with me," Fury said.
Jake Paul (6-0) will be fighting his first bonafide professional boxer in Tommy, which does add intrigue to the slated encounter considering Jake Paul has previously promised a knockout in the lead-up so far to proceedings to the February 26th fight date. Tommy feels it will be an easy night's work for himself and not Jake along with the event himself being an overall success with Tyson and dad, John, able to drum up and hype up the interest in the fight.
“I think we all know Tyson by now - and my dad - we all know how to sell pay-per-views, we all know how to hype a fight. I think that’s all that is really. My dad and Tyson both know what’s going to happen in this fight, Tyson’s been there ever since I started boxing, so has my dad. They know what I’m capable of, they know what my opponent is capable of and it’s going to be quite an easy night’s work.”
