Oleksandr Usyk Accepts Tyson Fury 70/30 Purse Split Offer, With A Twist

Unified (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has accepted Tyson Fury’s proposed 70/30 purse split offer for an undisputed heavyweight showdown on April 29th. No contract has been signed, but Usyk on social media took the terms following Fury’s video earlier on Friday (March 10th), which outlined the 70/30 for a proposed bout. Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, said that for every day that Usyk delayed in accepting the terms he offered then, Usyk would lose 1% of the split per day.

Usyk responded that he would accept the deal for April 29th but only if Fury donated £1 million to the Ukrainian people following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February of last year. Fury would have to donate the money immediately after the fight with a 1% increase for every passing day he delays paying the sum.

“Deal. Greedy belly, I accept your offer, 70/30, split the fight on April 29th at Wembley.

“But you will promise to donate to Ukraine immediately after the fight £ 1 million, and every day of delay, you will pay one per cent of your purse to the Ukrainian people.”
